Flora & Fauna

We have a marvellous diversity of plants and wildlife around the district.

Of course,  talented and dedicated people record these details for the public's benefit. Want to know about local birds? Have to chat to local chaps Fred Watts and Collis Needs. There's not much they haven't observed over the years. We hope to include soon a list of the birds living or travelling through our district.

Friends of Kooyoora is a local group also dedicated to preserving and educating the public about aspects of wildlife in the Kooyoora State Park. They meet often with events, so keep an eye out on the "Events" section, or talk to Convenor Annette Robertson (ph 5494 3650). Check out their website.  more >

Rob Scholes (54373255) is a superb photographer of local scenery, local plants and mosses etc. and you may be able to visit his gallery or purchase a magnificent picture.

A very talented lady, local artist Marjorie May has painted some of the local native wild flowers.

They are just superb.
